People In Need Telethon

In 2007, RTE’s People in Need Telethon Fundraiser raised just over €6 million and Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind was one of the 500 charities who benefitted. Seen here is People in Needs’ Sandra O’Brien who visited our Headquarters and Training Centre to handover a cheque for € 25,000. She is joined by our Chief Executive, Padraig Mallon and one of our Kennel Team Members Maeve McCluskey and Labrador Herbert.

The funds will be going towards the redevelopment work currently underway at our Headquarters, specifically towards the Puppy and Breeding Block that has been built as part of our Kennels. Padraig Mallon expressed his thanks to People in Need and said: ‘We’re very pleased to have been included in the €422,000 allocated to County Cork. The public support for RTE’s People in Need telethon is inspiring and we’d like to thank them for their generosity in supporting charities like ourselves through this campaign.’
