We spoke to the team in our Donegal Branch which was launched in July 2019 and has been steadily growing since.

The Branch consists of passionate people from all walks of life bringing different qualities to the team. In normal times, we met regularly and also communicate through WhatsApp groups but since Covid-19 we have had to rely on Zoom meetings.

We use our Facebook page for updates and we are trying to come up with unique fundraising ideas given we cannot yet return to community fundraising. We recently had a very successful “Bake a creation, Make a donation” challenge and a raffle to win a personalised pet portrait.

People in Donegal are very supportive and local newspapers and radio stations are happy to support us when they can. Just this week we were delighted to accept a cheque for €10,500 from a local woman, Nuala Lynch from Culkeeny, who ran a pop up New to You shop in memory of her daughter Claire.

Donegal has many Guide and Assistance Dog Owners along with Ambassador Dogs, and in recent months we have welcomed a Puppy in Training and a Breeding Stock Brood which will help us grow awareness as they’ve created a lot of excitement in the area.
